Nostalgia In Food

I love many foods, but for this exercise, I had to choose pasta. There was a period when I was much younger when I refused to eat much anything else but pasta and parmesan cheese! Of course I was little then, but even as I have grown older and my tastes have expanded I have continued my love affair with it. Pasta will always have a special place in my heart as the food of my childhood.

The Warmth of a Cuddly, Adoring Mammal

This is my dog, Alex. He has been in my family since I was four years old. At almost eleven years old, he is just as affectionate as he was when he was a puppy. Every day when I get home from school he jumps up on me and greets me with a smile. While I am doing homework, reading, or just relaxing, if I am on my bed or the couch he always curls up beside me. When I go to sleep, he cuddles up next to me and in the morning when I wake up he comes back on my bed. I cannot think of a person (or animal) who I've hugged more.

The Great Outdoors Draws Me In

I love the smell of mint leaves. We used to have a bush that grew them in my house in Michigan, and I would go outside and pick them up just to smell them. They remind me of my childhood and the feeling of being outdoors, which I love.

Behind the Icon

I chose the iconic Abbey Road image for sound because not only do I love the Beatles and the music they have inspired, but Abbey Road itself is a famous recording studio where musical acts such as U2 have recorded. The Abbey Road image has other significance for me because I have this poster in my room and because my favorite Beatles song, "Something", is on their Abbey Road album.

The Grandeur of Lake Huron

This is the Fort Gratiot lighthouse in Port Huron, Michigan, where I grew up. It is on Lake Huron, and while I have been to many other beaches in my life, none are as beautiful to me as the ones on the Great Lakes. I also chose this picture because I have actually been to the top of this lighthouse and I can personally assure you that the view is beautiful. I will always have a special place in my heart for Lake Huron.
